Well Well

We went to the midnight showing of Batman last night (or this morning, however you want to look at it).  I think that it has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. 

With the movies I’ve seen over the summer, I was starting to think that maybe movies have just degenerated to the point where I could no longer enjoy them.  Especially when I would read reviews of them that said they were fairly good.  For example, the Angelina Jolie movie “Wanted” was just about the most ridiculous thing ever.  Let me just spoil it for you…these people are a bunch of cloth weavers and they get hidden messages in the cloth that tells them who to kill.  Their heart-rates also get up to 400 beats per minute and that allows them extraordinary perception skills (with the increased blood flow and oxygen to the brain I guess).  Oh yeah…they can make bullets curve by slinging their arms around when they are shooting.  It was retarded.

Everyone said that “Robots” was good too.  While I thought it was enjoyable, I was just ready for that movie to be over with by the time it ended.  This has been my general outlook for most movies this summer (except Hancock which I thought was fairly good, and extremely entertaining).  I thought that maybe I was just in a bad summer mood (I get in bad moods throughout the summer because it is so hot), and that maybe this is what was making me think all these movies sucked.

But Batman didn’t suck at all.  It was abso-stinkin-lutely the greatest movie I have seen since the last Batman!  I’m not usually a fan of long movies, and this one was two and a half hours long.  But I found myself wishing it would last longer when I realized that it had to be close to finished.
